Pete Solymosi

Pete has been a life-long sports lover, taking part in a variety of sports from a very early age. He spent a decade of his youth in judo attending tournaments around BC and was at one point named the Provincial Champion in his weight category. In addition Pete was also an avid downhill skier spending most weekends at Silver Star eventually becoming a ski instructor. After high school Pete took up the sport of triathlon and competed throughout western Canada for 13 years. His most cherished memory is completing Ironman Canada in 2002. Pete also took part in many individual events and races during this time including road cycling races, criteriums, mountain bike races, cross country running races, half marathons and marathons.

When Pete met his wife, Sue, the two took up ballroom dancing and trained weekly for a number of years culminating in a choreographed dance for their wedding. Ballroom dancing eventually led to Zumba® Fitness. Pete attended a couple of Sareena’s Zumba® classes with encouragement from Sue and it soon became a regular occurrence to have Pete at a Zumba® class. In 2015 Pete obtained his Zumba® Fitness instructor’s certification. Nowadays he can be found teaching the occasional song in the Soul Studio Zumba® schedule.

In 2017 Pete rekindled his love of the bike by joining a group of instructors to become certified to teach at Soul Ryde. Pete has taken his love of cycling and background in triathlon and has combined it with his passion for music.
