Breaking down the Barre

Barre PicWith 14 Barre classes on the schedule, Soul Studio is your perfect place to get your burn on and experience a workout that is transforming bodies world wide!
Through small isometric movements and utilizing the barre, you are taken through a series of movements which target and tone your thighs, hips, seat, abdominals and arms.  You work to ‘shake’ meaning your muscles are reaching the point of fatigue-this is your goal to work towards for each muscle group.  After fatiguing the muscle groups, you stretch to elongate them which creates the long lean muscles without the bulk.
With the variety of fun upbeat Barre classes on the schedule there is a fit for all fitness levels and ages.  It’s a great low impact workout, which protects the joints, and accommodates all levels of fitness.  The positions and movements are basic, it is how deep you work in them that makes the difference.  The Barre is utilized for most of the class, incorporating in the ball and bands, with yoga mats for floor and core work and light weights (1-3lbs) for arms.  The class requires concentration, creating similar benefits obtained by yoga.
Come dressed in your workout attire of yoga pants or capris, slip on a pair of Soul Barre socks and you’ll be set for class.  See your body change in as little as 10 classes.  Don’t let this low impact workout fool you.  We look forward to seeing you at the Barre at Soul Studio where you might just walk away with a new addiction.
